Five Days. Eight Meets.Published by
by Brett Hoover — posted on 12/29/2011 It is a busy week here at The Armory. Eight meets in five days between the Christmas and New Year's weekend. Thursday morning and early afternoon features the CHSAA Junior, Weight & Novice meet followed this evening by the New Jersey Catholic Track Conference Championships. Brian Russell of St. Joseph by the Sea was the early headliner today, clearing a meet record in the high jump with a clearance of 6-3. The old CHSAA event mark was 6-2 set by Claudio Dellicarpini of Harrison and Kyle Brown of Holy Trinity in 2009 and matched by Fordham Prep's Trevon Tann last year. Early Friday will be the North Shore Invitational, which will yield two more Millrose Games high school mile qualifiers (one boy, one girl), before the Track Universe High School Invitational Friday evening. After that, things will be unusually quiet at The Armory over the weekend as we ring in the New Year. More news
