Track & field athletes from the PSAL, grades 9 to 12, are invited to compose an essay, a poem or any written expression to show how they are continuing the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., by making a difference in their community and their own lives.

The them of this year's writing contest is: "What is most important to you about Dr. Martin Luther King's message of peace, brotherhood and non-violence and why?"

Winners will be notified on Jan. 16 and recognized during the MLK Relays at The Armory on Jan. 21. Written submissions for the contest should be no longer than 500 words and must be the original work of the student. Entries must include the student's name, phone number, school and school contact number.
